Ukraine will not brush aside the investigation of the tragedy

Journalistic-expert “Group on May 2″ has prepared an appeal to the Prosecutor General of Ukraine to finally start investigation of the events on May 2, 2014 in Odesa.
As said the member of journalistic-expert group Sergiy Dibrov, after the publication of the report and the press conference of the International Advisory Group it became clear that the investigation was biased, to it a lot of claims, the process is extremely tight.
– Ukraine was in an unpleasant situation when authoritative European legal body says that there is no progress in the investigation, when it gives concrete recommendations and complaints to the investigation, and it’s all after one and a half year of investigation of the events in Odesa – said Sergiy Dibrov.

“Group on May 2″ has decided to act and appealed to the Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin. Sergiy Dibrov recalled that a year ago under the Prosecutor General’s Office was created Directorate of Special Investigations to investigate crimes of Euromaidan. After the comments in the investigation of crimes by the International Advisory Group, management has taken into account the comments of special investigations. The department employs about 90 experienced investigators.
 – Odesa events have acquired a great resonance outside the country, used to discredit. Interest in it from the outside, including the Council of Europe, is great. All 13 members of our group have signed an appeal to the Prosecutor General to transmit a result of the investigation group in Odesa to the management of special investigations of the Prosecutor General. The main complaint from the Council of Europe – is that the investigation of the events, which involved police officers, police officers conducted themselves, – said Sergiy Dibrov.
Social activists also said that today in Kyiv will be a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Corruption on the work of management of special investigations. Deputies will discuss the possible transfer of the case on May 2 to this management.
